Middle East Crisis Peace Talks

Iran rages against the US again: “Making unreasonable demands”

It seems that the negotiations on the Iran war are entering a sensitive phase, reports the AP.

Among other things, the army chief of the mediating country Pakistan has traveled to Iran to try to help the talks move forward. A delegation from Qatar has also been there. At the same time, US President Donald Trump has suddenly changed his weekend plans. He refers to “circumstances” that mean he has to skip his son’s wedding this weekend.

There is an American proposal on Iran’s table, and according to Iran, it is currently being looked at.

Despite speculation that things are happening behind the scenes, there is much to suggest that the parties are far apart, according to the news agency.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says that the Iranian negotiators are “a group of difficult people” and according to information in Axios and CBS News, Trump is considering new attacks.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that the US is making unreasonable demands and accuses the administration of “military aggression” against the country.

Trump: 50/50 chance of Iran deal

Donald Trump threatens Iran with “blowing them up” if it doesn’t reach an agreement with the US. In an interview with Axios, the president says that there is currently a “50/50” chance that the peace talks will reach a conclusion this weekend.

According to the site’s sources, Donald Trump will speak later on Saturday with representatives of a number of Gulf countries and with the mediator country Pakistan.

Earlier reports in the Financial Times claim that Iran and the US are close to extending the ceasefire by 60 days.

Report: The ceasefire could be extended by 60 days

Mediators believe that Iran and the US are close to agreeing on an extended ceasefire by 60 days, sources tell the Financial Times. A diplomat tells the newspaper that the talks are currently going in the right direction and that the ball is in the US’s court.

Iran is said to be ready to make concessions regarding its nuclear energy program, but not as long as the war continues.

– This agreement helps to narrow the gap.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says that the talks are progressing and opening the way for a solution to be reached in the coming days.
