US intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard is resigning after her husband was diagnosed with bone cancer, reports Fox News.

According to Fox, Gabbard submitted her resignation on Friday.

“Unfortunately, I must resign, effective June 30,” she wrote in a letter to President Donald Trump, adding:

“My husband, Abraham, was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.”

Former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard was appointed director of national intelligence in February 2025.
