EU wants entry ban for Russian soldiers

The EU Commission is proposing an entry ban for Russian soldiers who were active during the war against Ukraine, reports AFP.

"The door to Europe should not be open to Russia's (former) combatants," writes EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

The proposal is part of the Commission's 21st sanctions package against Russia, which was presented during the day.

The package also includes sanctions against 30 ships that are part of or assist the Russian shadow fleet. Infrastructure that trades Russian oil is also subject to sanctions.
