Säpo fears that the threat picture against Sweden has increased and is now increasing preparedness, according to information to Aftonbladet.  

 

A special event must have started.  

 

After the Koran burning outside the Turkish embassy, threats of attacks against Sweden have increased, as Säpo has previously announced.  

 

On Wednesday, they also did not rule out that the terror threat level could be raised in the future.

According to information to Aftonbladet, the threat picture against Sweden has now increased. According to information, it is about terrorist threats directed at Sweden and Swedish interests.  

 

Authorities are now preparing to increase preparedness.  

 

The police in the Stockholm region are launching a special event called Doris in order to support the Security Police in the event of a terrorist crime, according to information to Aftonbladet.

The background to the increased threat picture is, among other things, the attention-grabbing LVU-campaign and the Koran burning near the Turkish embassy in Stockholm in January.  

 

The security police tell Aftonbladet that nothing has changed in the past 24 hours.  

 

- We have a serious situation, we had that yesterday and we had that today. Nothing has changed in the last 24 hours, says Nina Odermalm Schei, press manager at Säpo.  

 

According to Säpo, Sweden is in greater focus now than before for violent Islamism globally. 

 

- Sweden has become the focus of the Islamist violence-endorsing environment both at home and globally, says Fredrik Hallström, head of counterintelligence and constitutional protection at Säpo, earlier this week.  

 

A few days ago, the American embassy in Sweden issued a warning to its citizens in the country. They were then advised to avoid crowds, keep a low profile and be aware of their surroundings.  

 

Several countries are preparing a warning against traveling to Sweden, according to information.
