Several flying objects have been observed in the airspace over North America recently. Three of them have been shot down.
Shooting down UFOs is extremely unusual, says Clas Svahn at Ufo-Sverige.
- It is extremely sensitive, he says.
Last Friday, the US Defense Forces shot down a UFO, an "unidentified flying object", the size of a car over Alaska. At the same time, more reports of unidentified flying objects are coming from different countries.
According to US intelligence agencies, they are likely to be balloons smaller than the first Chinese balloon.
- Just a few months ago, neither the military nor the intelligence services knew about these balloons. But now we know a lot more. We are now gathering information to find out what may happen in the future, said Chuck Schumer, the majority leader of the Democrats in the Senate, to ABC News.

Three objects shot down
Another airborne object or objects traveled over the Yukon province in northern Canada on Saturday evening.
According to Norad, the joint US-Canada military command that monitors North American airspace, the UFO was observed by warplanes from both countries.
At 11 p.m., Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ordered the military to shoot down the object.
It became the third shot down over North American airspace in a short period of time.

China: Preparing to shoot down
On Sunday, China stated that a UFO has been observed near the city of Rizhao in Shandong Province, reports Bloomberg.
Now they are preparing to shoot it down and urging local fishermen to be careful.

Clas Svahn, vice chairman of UFO-Swden, and reporter at DN says that it is an extremely unusual act to shoot down objects for countries that are in peacetime.
- It is extremely sensitive. But I think they do it for several reasons. The first occasion when the Chinese balloon arrived was a given. They wanted to know what it contained, he says.
- On the other two occasions, it has been said that the objects went at such a height, 12,000 meters up, that it threatened civil aviation. That's an altitude at which regular passenger aircraft fly and can certainly pose a threat.

"Gone with the Wind"
The US Defense Force says the first Chinese balloon, which was shot down on February 4, was controllable.
But there is a lot of evidence that the latest objects have drifted with the wind, according to Clas Svahn.
- In my world, there is no doubt that they have driven northerly winds across Canada. On both occasions it has been possible to follow the objects for 24 hours on their way into northern Canada and parts of the United States so they are very slow moving.
- If the objects had been able to navigate, they would of course have avoided being shot down. The most likely thing is that it is about objects that are filled with helium. That it is something balloon-like, I think is pretty clear.

"Mystery who sent them"
It is still a mystery who sent them up.
There is currently nothing to indicate that the unidentified objects have any connection to the Chinese balloon, writes CNN.
- If you, as a foreign country, see that your balloon has gone off course, you must inform the countries over which it is drifting so that it does not endanger other aviation. If someone had lost their research balloons, they should have been told by now. Due to bad weather, they have not yet had time to examine the objects.

Fouganthin So-called research balloons are rare, but have previously flown over Sweden at an altitude of around 18,000 meters.
On Saturday evening, Canadian aviation was closed in Montana a few hours after shooting down the unknown object in the northern parts of the country, according to CNN.
- What is happening now is unique. And just yesterday there was another alarm in Montana after the object was shot down. Nothing was found, but Montana was the state over which the Chinese balloon entered.
