Polish border police: Belarus gives migrants bolt cutters and ladders
Belarusian border guards give migrants ladders and bolt cutters to help them get over the fence at the border with Poland. This is what Polish border police officer Krystyna Jakimik Jarosz tells Ekot.
So far this year, according to her, the Polish border police have arrested over 15,000 people trying to cross the border from Belarus. That's the same number as in the whole of last year. Whether it is due to the new fence or more people trying to get over is unclear.
Krystyna Jakimik Jarosz describes the situation at the border as the most tense in a long time and says that there is concern that soldiers from the Wagner group will end up in Belarus.
The boat disaster in Greece
Italy warned of dead children before boat sank - complicating timeline
Before the disaster with the migrant boat Adriana was a fact, Italian authorities warned their colleagues in the EU and Greece that two children had died on board. This is reported by Politico and the German Welt.
The warning was sent just after 8am on June 14 – an hour after the Italians first spotted the boat, according to an internal document from EU border police Frontex. In the evening, the overcrowded boat sank and more than 600 migrants are feared to have drowned.
According to Politico, the new time indication raises the question of whether the authorities knew of the emergency situation on the ship earlier than they admitted. Neither party wants to comment on the new data.

The missing children of the Amazon
The Amazon siblings have left the hospital: "Feeling well"
The four children who survived 40 days in the Amazon rainforest after a plane crash have been discharged from the hospital after a month, reports AFP. According to local authorities, the siblings have recovered, gained weight and are "very well".
When the children were found on the ninth of June, they looked emaciated. They had then spent over a month in the rainforest, since the plane they were traveling in crashed. All three adults on board died – one of them was the children's mother.
The siblings will live in an orphanage for the next six months, while custody is sorted out. Both the grandparents and the father of the two younger children want custody.

Source: The crypto giant can kick upwards of 3,000
Crypto exchange Binance plans to lay off between 1,500 and 3,000 employees this year, sources told CNBC. Earlier on Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported that over 1,000 employees have already been let go.
The cuts are connected to the investigations that are currently underway at both the US Department of Justice DOJ and the financial supervisory authority SEC for various suspected violations.
According to the source, the DOJ investigation in particular is likely to "overturn the company fundamentally", either as a result of prosecution or settlement - which would probably amount to several billion dollars.
A spokesperson for Binance refutes reports that upwards of 3,000 may be allowed to go.
