Knocked out winner gives up if he is not released 

 

Election winner Pita Limjaroenrat will not run for the prime ministership of Thailand again unless parliament clears him next week. He says this according to AFP after the military-appointed Senate stopped him from forming a coalition government with his Kao Klai (Forward) and the Pheu Thai (For Thailand) party. 

 

- If it is clear that Kao Klai really does not have a chance to form a government, I am ready to let the party with the second most votes form the coalition, he says in a video on his social channels.  

 

If Pheu Thai's candidate is supported by the conservative senators, it is unclear whether Kao Klai will be part of the coalition, writes the Bangkok Post. The party is said to be considering its options and may cooperate with smaller parties in parliament instead.

"Gray hair is the leader" - Putin's proposal seems to divide Wagner  

 

Vladimir Putin seems to have created a rift between the Wagner soldiers and leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, writes CNN. The Russian president claims in an interview with the newspaper Kommersant that after the foiled coup attempt, he suggested that the "Gray Hair" command take over the leadership - but that Prigozhin declined the offer.  

 

According to several media, "Gråhår" is actually Andreij Troshev and is a senior member and co-founder of the Wagner group. According to European sanctions documents, he is a retired Russian colonel who, among other things, fought in Syria.

Troshev is described in an EU document as the group's executive director, and Putin hinted in the Kommersant interview that he is the Wagner Group's "real leader." 

 

It is unclear where Prigozhin is at the moment. He has not been seen since July 2.
