Expert on terrorist threats against Swedes: Signs of seriousness
An Iranian military group has directed threats against Swedes in the world, which terror researcher Hans Brun sees as an escalation, GP writes.
The threats from the group Ashab al-Kahf, which TV4 Nyheterna reported on on Friday, have been published on the Telegram platform and contain calls to search "for every Swede".
- It is a sign of the seriousness of the situation. What is new is that Swedes are singled out as a collective, not individuals such as Lars Vilks.
The threats are not something "to be ignored", according to Brun, and recalls that both Lars Vilks and Salman Rushdie were subjected to assassination attempts after similar threats from other groups.
The threats from Ashab al-Kahf come after the Koran actions that have been carried out in Sweden recently.

"The form of government allows limited freedom of expression"
The Swedish form of government makes it possible to restrict freedom of expression and freedom of demonstration, writes international law expert Ove Bring in a debate article in SvD. He refers to a section which states that restrictions may be made, among other things, "with regard to the security of the kingdom".
Even the European Convention and the UN Convention, adopted in 1950 and 1966 respectively, allow freedom of expression to be restricted with regard to national security.
Bring thinks that these possibilities have not received enough attention, and he believes that a change in the law could take place "if the political will exists".

Bildt's warning: An "explosive situation" may arise
Carl Bildt, former moderate prime minister, sees a risk of an escalated security threat to Sweden and warns of a "purely explosive situation" if more Korans are burned, he tells TT.
He compares it to the situation that arose after Lars Vilk's Muhammad caricatures, and thinks that the situation after the Koran burnings is worse.
- And has the potential to get even worse, he says.
Bildt makes the assessment that there is now a security threat to Swedish interests and that the threat is "quite significant".

Anger is directed at Denmark - hundreds tried to storm the Green Zone in Baghdad
Several hundred protesters have tried to storm the so-called Green Zone in Baghdad, where government buildings and embassies are located. This is reported by AP.
The background is the Koran burning which is said to have taken place outside the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen yesterday. Iraqi forces reportedly stopped the mob from reaching the Danish embassy.
The Copenhagen police have confirmed that "a book" has been burned, but not whether it was the Koran.
On the night of Thursday, the Swedish embassy in Iraq was stormed. According to TT's information, the staff had to flee and the operation has been temporarily moved to Stockholm for security reasons.
