Thai election winner will not become prime minister
Thai election winner Pita Limjaroenrat of the Kao Klai party renounces the claim to the post of prime minister, reports Reuters. This after the country's parliament voted no to Pita's nomination this week.
The Kao Klai party will instead support a candidate from the Pheu Thai coalition party when the parliament will once again vote on the prime minister position on July 27. The Kao Klai party became the largest party in the election in Thailand in May.
Along with seven other parties, Kao Klai has come together to challenge the military establishment that has held power in the country since a military coup in 2014.
