Analysis: Israeli raids fuel Palestinian anger
Both sides will declare victory when the Israeli raid in Jenin is now over - and then the conflict will return to reality, writes the BBC's Jeremy Bowen in an analysis.
According to him, this means that anger, despair and poverty are fueling the culture of resistance among Palestinians and that Israel's right-wing nationalist government is trying to meet that rhetoric with action.
"The real danger is that Israelis and Palestinians are sliding into an even more violent phase of their long conflict," writes Bowen.
Haaretz's Jack Khoury also believes that the images from Jenin will become fertile ground for a new generation of Palestinians without hope - even if Israel succeeds in creating some kind of calm in the West Bank.
Herb Keinon writes in the Jerusalem Post that the consequences of the raid in Jenin can be divided into two parts:
Operation and strategy. Operationally, according to him, the military must prevent the refugee camp from once again becoming an infrastructure for terrorists. He writes that one must also prepare for Palestinian revenge attacks, like the one in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, and for that matter Jewish revenge attacks.
On a strategic level, Israel's military needs to define its vision for Jenin, writes Keinon.

The Israeli military says the operation in Jenin is officially over after the large-scale raid that lasted for two days. According to a statement on Wednesday morning, the soldiers have left the area, several news agencies report.
The withdrawal began late last night, but sporadic fighting reportedly continued in parts of the refugee camp. At midnight, residents began to go out again, according to information to AP. At the time, there was still no official confirmation from the military that the soldiers had left.
At least twelve Palestinians have died during the operation and thousands have left their homes, according to Reuters.

Israel attacks targets in Gaza after rocket attacks last night
Five rockets were fired from Gaza into southern Israel early Wednesday morning, according to Israel's military, which responded with airstrikes. This is reported by AFP.
According to Palestinian security sources, one of Hamas' military facilities in Gaza has been hit, but no one is said to have been injured.
So far, no Palestinian group has claimed responsibility for the rocket fire against Israel. The Israeli military states that all were stopped by air defenses.
Late last night it was reported that the Israeli military had begun to withdraw from Jenin in the West Bank. Israel's two-day raid there has claimed at least 13 lives, including one Israeli soldier.
