270,000 employees may have had their data exposed
The Chinese hacker attack on a payroll system used by the British Ministry of Defense may have exposed the details of 270,000 people, reports The Telegraph.
Those affected are both soldiers and veterans who are now being asked to keep an eye on whether their information is disseminated. The data disclosed are names, bank details and addresses.
The cyber attack is believed to have lasted for three weeks, writes the Independent.

China's response to cyber attack allegations: 'Nonsense'
Sky News' information that the British Ministry of Defense has been hacked by the Chinese state is now being answered by China, AFP reports.
"The remarks by British politicians are total nonsense," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, adding that China has always opposed cyber attacks.
On Monday, Sky News reported a "huge leak" after an attack on a payroll system exposed bank details and names.
