Denmark's new royal couple, King Frederik X and Queen Mary, have arrived in Stockholm. On the schedule is a meeting with astronauts and a gala dinner at the castle.
The two-day visit, which begins on Monday, is the very first state visit that King Frederik and Queen Mary are making as new royals.
At 10 o'clock on Monday morning, they arrived at Skeppsholmen aboard the royal sloop Vasaorden. Also on board were Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. They then went to Stockholm Castle where, among others, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar were waiting.
Monday's schedule includes lunch at the castle with the Swedish royal couple, a meeting with the Speaker and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M).
During the afternoon, the two royal couples visit the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), where they will meet, among other things, the Swedish astronauts Christer Fuglesang and Marcus Wandt, as well as their Danish counterpart Andreas Mogensen. The evening ends with a gala dinner at the castle.
There are close family ties between the Danish and Swedish royal houses and Frederik X and Crown Princess Victoria are siblings.
Frederik X became King of Denmark on January 15 when his mother, Queen Margrethe, abdicated and left the throne to him.

It is unusual for children to be given time off from school.
The issue of holiday truants has received attention and the municipalities have become increasingly strict in their view of invalid absences from school. Last February, a family in Solna had to pay a fine after a trip to Thailand.
But when it comes to royal visits, it seems easier to get a dispensation.
- This is a state visit to Sweden and during the morning the children are here to greet the new Danish royal couple, says the court's head of information Margareta Thorgren.
Will it go back to school in the afternoon?
- There is no information that I have, says Margareta Thorgren.
