Panama has problems when it comes to healthcare and education. That is what the 63-year-old bus driver Juan José Tinoco tells AP when the country elects a new president on Sunday. He is also troubled by corruption that has been going on for a long time.
- We have money. This is a country with lots of wealth, but we need a leader dedicated to the needs of Panama.
The 63-year-old plans to cast his vote for the favorite José Raúl Mulino. The explanation is that he made a lot of money under the former president Ricardo Martinelli, who supports Mulino.

Troubled election in Panama - has received support from the embassy
The residents of Panama go to the polls on Sunday to choose a new president after an election campaign that was largely characterized by legal trips, according to the AP.
The former president Ricardo Martinelli was long the favorite to win, but he was sentenced to prison for money laundering in March and now it is his replacement, the lawyer José Raúl Mulino, who is the best according to the polls.
That Mulino is running at all only became clear on Friday, when the country's highest court ruled that his candidacy was legitimate despite the fact that he was never chosen by the party in the primary election.
Martinelli's supporters are believed to be voting for Mulino thanks to the ex-president campaigning for his former colleague - from the Nicaraguan embassy where he fled before the prison sentence.
A total of eight candidates are vying for the presidency.
