Hurricane season

Biden and Harris go to hurricane-hit states

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will visit two of the hurricane-affected areas in the southeastern United States on Wednesday, several media outlets write.

Biden is due to go to North Carolina, where at least 74 people have so far been confirmed dead after the storm. He will survey the damage from the air, according to the White House. Biden himself says that it is because he does not want to interfere with the rescue work.

Harris, for his part, goes to the neighboring state of Georgia, where at least 25 people have died.

In a statement from the White House, it was announced that Biden will also stop in South Carolina and meet with representatives from the emergency services.
