The Russian embassy threatens Swedes in the Ukraine war

The Russian embassy in Stockholm has directed threats on its social media against Swedes fighting on Ukraine's side in the war, reports TV4 Nyheterna.

The embassy hangs out a Swedish volunteer soldier who participated in an SvD interview under the nom de guerre "Hufsa". He is wrongly described as a mercenary fighting for the "Nazi Kiev regime".

"We would once again like to remind all those who want to follow in his footsteps and become complicit in the criminal acts of the Kiev regime that Russia will definitely find out about you, and you will mandatorily get what you deserve for your atrocities," the embassy writes.

Twelve sentenced for sabotage against Russian plane in Belarus

Twelve people in Belarus have been sentenced to between two and 25 years in prison for terrorist offenses after sabotaging a Russian aircraft on Belarusian soil, AFP reports.

It was in February 2023 that a Russian model A-50 radar reconnaissance plane was destroyed at the Matyulyshchy air base outside the capital Minsk.

A group of Belarusian oppositionists took responsibility for the deed. Only five of the convicted are in the country. The alleged mastermind behind the crime, Nikolaj Shvets, is in Ukraine after a prisoner exchange.

Acts of sabotage in Belarus, especially against the railways, have increased since President Lukashenko allowed Russia to use the country's territory during the invasion of Ukraine.
