After the crime: Denmark tightens border controls
Denmark tightens border controls after the events of the past few days in Stockholm and Copenhagen, writes Danish TV2 and refers to a press release from Danish police.
The reason is Wednesday's explosions at the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen and the shooting at the Israeli embassy in Stockholm last Tuesday.
According to TV2, the focus will be on preventing new violent crimes, including through random sampling of vehicles and arrivals from Sweden and Germany.
- The latest developments unfortunately confirm that the terrorist threat against Denmark is serious, says Peter Ekebjærg, chief commissioner at the National Police in Denmark.
Two Swedes, 16 and 19 years old, are in custody on suspicion of terrorist offenses in Denmark after the explosions in Copenhagen. They deny any crime, according to DR.
