Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th president of the United States during a ceremony in the Capitol in Washington.

During the speech, he harshly criticizes his predecessor, who he believes has allowed the country to decline, and at the same time presents a long series of presidential decrees to reverse the trend.
Trump says, among other things, that he is declaring a state of emergency at the US border with Mexico and sending troops there. He also promises that the American flag will be raised on the planet Mars and that the US will “take back” the Panama Canal.
Trump also said that in recent years he has been persecuted by authorities on behalf of his political opponents, something he promised would not happen to anyone in the future. He also mentioned how he was grazed by a bullet during the presidential election campaign last year.

Trump promises that the USA will leave the Paris Agreement – again
Donald Trump will once again withdraw the USA from the Paris Agreement. The White House announced this in a press release, shortly after the change of power became a fact.
The Financial Times writes that the decision means that "the world's largest historical polluter" once again leaves the fight against carbon dioxide emissions. The newspaper further notes that it is a heavy blow to the world, especially considering that last year was the warmest year ever recorded.
Trump made the same decision the last time he was president. When Joe Biden took over, he rejoined the USA to the Paris Agreement.
Proud Boys chant at the stadium: "Free our boys"
Two minutes after Donald Trump was sworn in as president, about 50 members of the far-right group Proud Boys chanted outside the stadium in Washington DC, NBC reports.
– Free our boys! Free our boys! they shouted.
NBC reporter Vaughn Hillyard, who posted a video clip of the demonstration, writes that it is still unclear how Trump will act. Several of the Proud Boys supporters were arrested, convicted and imprisoned after the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
