Russian invasion Negotiations

Report: Russia and Ukraine to meet in Turkey

Representatives of Russia and Ukraine are to meet in Ankara on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss security in the Black Sea, sources within the Turkish Defense Ministry told CNN Türk.

Neither Ukraine nor Russia have confirmed the reports.

These would be the first direct talks between the countries in three years, writes the Moscow Times. Previous agreements such as the grain deal have been negotiated through intermediaries.

According to the sources, the meeting will be held at the headquarters of the Turkish Navy, and military representatives from other – unnamed – countries will participate.

Trump after the meeting: “Invite or shut up”

The negotiations on a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine “are probably going well”. This is what Donald Trump said after Friday’s meeting between his envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports the Kyiv Independent.

At the same time, Trump emphasizes that the parties must urgently reach a solution.

“It comes to a point where you either offer or you shut up. We’ll see what happens, but I think it will work out,” he tells reporters aboard Air Force One.

The meeting between Witkoff and Putin was described as productive, but no details have emerged.
