Pakistan nominates Trump – said to have mediated with India
Pakistan nominates Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, the government writes on its official account on X.
The post mainly praises Trump's efforts as a mediator during the armed conflict with India earlier this year.
"This intervention is proof of his role as a genuine peacemaker and his belief in conflict resolution through dialogue".
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has previously denied that Trump played any role in the ceasefire. Neither he nor any of his representatives participated in the talks at all, according to Modi.
Anyone can be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. However, those who can submit nominations are limited to, among others, sovereign states, university professors in certain subjects and former peace laureates.
