Israel vs Iran
Israel awaits Trump's response: "Operation is based on US joining"

The Israeli government hopes that Donald Trump himself will make the decision to involve the US in the war, reports CNN, which has spoken to several high-ranking Israeli officials. Two of the channel's sources state that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not asked or urged Trump to attack Iranian nuclear facilities, despite the fact that the leaders have had close contact in recent days.

- The entire operation is based on the assumption that the US will join at some point, says one of the officials.

According to the information, Israel has the ability to destroy or knock out the nuclear facility in Fordow on its own. The sources state, however, that the hope is that the US, with its powerful GBU 57 bombs, so-called bunker busters, will facilitate the attacks.

Trump discussed the possibility of attacking Iran with his national security council on Tuesday evening, according to media reports. During the evening, Axios journalist Barak Ravid stated that Trump and Netanyahu spoke on the phone.

Reactions to Israel-Iran
Politicians want to vote on US plans in Iran

Several politicians want Donald Trump to have to be approved by Congress before he makes any decisions about US involvement in the conflict between Israel and Iran, several media outlets report. Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, along with several Democrats, is trying to force a vote.

"This is not our war. And even if it were, such issues must be decided in Congress according to our Constitution," Massie writes on X.

Massie is supported by several Democrats, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib.

G7 meeting in Canada
No Trump in Canada when Zelenskyj asked for more support

When Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj landed in Canada by helicopter on Tuesday, Donald Trump had already left the country. Zelensky is at the G7 summit to meet world leaders and ask for additional support for the war against Russia.

Zelensky has met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, among others. Carney announced that Canada is providing over SEK 14 billion to Ukraine in a new aid package.

The Wall Street Journal reports that it may be tough for the outside world to put hard pressure on Putin because Trump is sparing in his criticism of the Russian president. Zelensky notes the same thing in a statement after the G7 summit.

“Together, we must continue to urge President Trump to use his influence to force Putin to end the war,” the president writes.

Greenland's future
Prime Minister: Denmark will invest more in Greenland

Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen promises that the country will invest more in Greenland, reports Danish TV2. At a press conference, she says, among other things, that it is about strengthening defense and helping Greenland's tourism grow.

Frederiksen has met with the leaders of the Faroe Islands and Greenland during the day and for the first time the Danish Chief of Defence has participated in the meeting.

– The world has not only become more anxious, it has also become more dangerous, she says at the press conference.

Denmark is also working to give the Faroe Islands and Greenland more responsibility for domestic policy issues, according to the Prime Minister.
