US ambassador: "Trump is humble and respectful"
US ambassador to Sweden, Christine Jack Toretti, wants to build bridges between the countries when it comes to trade and defense - and help interpret Donald Trump. She says this in an interview with TT.
She says she understands why people are critical of Trump but points out that the president has a different side than the one that often appears in the media.
- In the Oval Office and on trips, he is humble and respectful, says Toretti.
She also assures that the US under Trump fully stands by its commitments in NATO.
- We are not going anywhere, and we stand firmly behind Article 5, she says.

Trump downplays threat: “We will help New York”
Donald Trump downplays threat to withdraw federal aid to New York that was made before Tuesday’s mayoral election, which was won by the democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani. According to CNN, the president says that it remains to be seen how Mamdani acts but that the White House wants to help.
– We will help them. We want New York to be successful.
At the same time, Trump believes that the election result is a “disaster” that has given “the communists, the Marxist socialists and the globalists their chance”.

Fainting man interrupts Donald Trump's press conference
One of the participants in Donald Trump's press conference with several pharmaceutical companies on Thursday fainted while the cameras were rolling in the Oval Office. A clip from the press conference shows a man standing behind the president suddenly collapsing.
According to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, the man fainted and the incident led to the media being forced to leave. When the latter resumed, Trump said the situation was under control.
– He is receiving medical attention, he is doing well.
Initially, it was reported that the person who fainted was Gordon Findlay, head of Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk. This is denied by the company, which announces that Findlay was not present at the White House, writes Newsweek.
