Emmanuel Macron är på plats i USA för att prata krig, pengar och Kina med Joe Biden.

Innan de viktiga mötena träffades världsledarna för att äta glass ihop.

”Välkomnar några vänner till stan” skriver den amerikanska presidenten på Twitter.

Den franske presidenten Emmanuel Macron är på statsbesök i USA. Han ska träffa USA:s president Joe Biden för att prata om ekonomi, kriget i Ukraina och relationerna med Kina.

Det är det första statsbesöket i Vita huset sedan Joe Biden valdes till ny president i början av 2021.

Reuters rapporterar att diskussionerna om Ukraina och Kina kan bli intressanta. Enligt experter som nyhetsbyrån pratat med tycker världsledarna olika i vissa av de stora frågorna.

Emmanuel Macron is in the US to talk war, money and China with Joe Biden. 

Before the important meetings, the world leaders met to eat ice cream together. 

"Welcome some friends to town," writes the American president on Twitter. 

French President Emmanuel Macron is on a state visit to the United States. He will meet US President Joe Biden to talk about the economy, the war in Ukraine and relations with China. 

It is the first state visit to the White House since Joe Biden was elected as the new president in early 2021. 

Reuters reports that the discussions about Ukraine and China could be interesting. According to experts that the news agency spoke to, the world leaders think differently on some of the big issues.

Before the important meetings, however, the presidents took the opportunity to enjoy some dessert. In a picture that Joe Biden published on Twitter, they are sitting next to each other with a bowl of ice cream. 

The first ladies Brigitte Macron and Jill Biden are also in the picture. 

"Welcome some friends to town" writes Joe Biden. 

The four leaders met at the Fiola Mare Italian restaurant in the Georgetown area. 

Joe Biden and Jill Biden have also planned a cracking arrival party ahead of the state visit. 200 live lobsters have been flown in from Maine and will be served with wine from California. 

Also on the menu are caviar, beef and potatoes, followed by cheeses from Oregon, California and Wisconsin, according to Reuters.
