After the row over the royal titles, Prince Joachim leaves France. 

 

This summer, he and his family are moving to the United States for a top job in the defense industry. 

 

The news has created reactions in Denmark. 

 

- There will be a greater distance between the queen and her son and the relationship is already infected, says court expert Sara Ericsson. 

 

When the summer holidays are over, prins Joachim takes the whole family to Washington. A top job in the defense industry awaits there, according to BT. 

 

The information about the move comes unexpectedly, but some time ago the prince confirmed to the Danish newspaper that his job as defense attaché at the Danish embassy in Paris will end this summer. 

 

The move comes after a turbulent period in the Danish royal family. At the end of September, Queen Margrethe announced that she is removing the prince and princess titles from Joachim's four children: Nikolai and Felix, who Joachim has with ex-wife Alexandra, and Athena and Henrik, who he has with Princess Marie.

The children felt frozen out 

 

It started a public row. It turned out that Queen Margrethe had not anchored the decision with Prince Joachim and his children. The news came as a surprise to the family and the children felt left out. 

 

Joachim and Marie criticized the queen openly in the media, so did Countess Alexandra and eldest son Nikolai. 

 

The brawl made headlines around the world. Joachim and Marie also revealed that the relationship with Crown Prince Frederik and Mary "is complicated" and that the move to Paris in 2020 was more or less forced by Queen Margrethe.

"They have lost their identity" 

 

Outwardly, the conflict subsided after the queen and her son met for a conversation in Copenhagen. At the same time, the court announces that Prince Joachim and Marie will celebrate Christmas abroad this year and thus not visit the Queen. And this summer they are moving even further away from Denmark and the royal house. 

 

- If the relationship and the quarrels are not investigated before the move, they will of course be even further from a solution when the family moves to the USA, says Sara Ericsson. 

 

In addition, according to Prince Joachim, the children have lost their identity and now they are being torn from their schools, according to court expert Sara Ericsson. 

 

Despite that, the court expert sees positive things with the move. The family can live a more anonymous life if they wish. 

 

- It is easier to create one in the United States, especially now that the children no longer have royal titles.
