White House on the objects: No links to China
There is no indication that the three unidentified objects shot down in North America after the balloon have links to China or any other country's espionage program. This is stated by the White House according to Reuters.
Two of them were shot down in the United States and one in Canada, and according to John Kirby, the White House spokesman for national security, they may be advertising or research balloons.
He points out, however, that China runs a "well-financed and elaborate espionage program" with difficult-to-detect high-altitude balloons to spy on the United States and other countries.

WHO: The natural disaster is Europe's worst in a century
The earthquakes in Turkey and Syria are the worst natural disaster in and around Europe in a century.
Hans Kluge, the European Director of the World Health Organization WHO draws that conclusion.
- The needs are enormous and increase with each passing hour. Around 26 million people in both countries are in need of humanitarian support, he says.
In the past week, 22 medical teams from the WHO have arrived in Turkey. On Monday, the Syrian regime and the UN agreed to allow disaster aid into rebel-held areas.

The king's health
Health problems in all three Nordic royal houses
The news that King Carl XVI Gustaf is to undergo surgery is worrying, says the Swedish historian Herman Lindqvist to Expressen. He draws historical parallels. The king's ancestors rarely had heart problems.
Lindqvist hopes that it is just something that needs to be adjusted, but it is relatively unusual and can cause concern in the family. Several of the king's missions had to be postponed for the next two weeks.
Two days later, the Swedish king's cousin in Denmark will undergo surgery. Queen Margrethe's back pain is to be fixed in a major operation, according to the Royal Household.
A long convalescence period is expected. Danish Se og Hør nevertheless assumes that the queen can receive the people's tribute at Amalienborg on her 83rd birthday in April, eight weeks after the operation.
Also in the third Nordic royal house, in Norway, health issues are current. King Harald turns 86 next week. After a major heart operation three years ago, he has been hospitalized several times.
