Joe Biden has seven grandchildren - but pretends there are only six.
The president refuses to know Hunter Biden's four-year-old daughter.
According to new reports, he instructed staff to ignore her during the election campaign.
According to information provided to the New York Times, the President of the United States has instructed his staff to recognize only six of his seven grandchildren.
The president's son Hunter Biden, 53, has a four-year-old daughter — Navy Joan — who is not on the list. According to the American newspaper's report, which attracted a lot of attention in the United States this weekend, it is about Joe Biden wanting to distance himself from his son's controversial foreign affairs ahead of next year's election.
Two people with good access to the White House have anonymously told the newspaper that staff have been instructed to always say that the president and his wife Jill Biden have six grandchildren - not seven.
Haven't met the child
Hunter Biden has recently ended a long custody dispute with Navy Joan's mother Lunden Roberts, 32. According to the New York Times, the dispute was about "money, corrosive politics and what it means to be born into the Biden family."
Roberts agreed to reduce Biden's monthly payments of the equivalent of SEK 215,000 and give up his demands to give his daughter the surname Biden, writes the Daily Mail. According to the newspaper, Biden has promised in return to meet Navy Joan for the first time and become a part of her life.
In the long run, it could mean that the four-year-old would meet his grandfather and grandmother for the first time. But right now it's a long way from there.
Biden has a tradition of hanging up Christmas stockings for his grandchildren in the White House at Christmas. But it is a tradition that the Navy has never been invited to - and will not be allowed to participate in this year either, according to the new information.
In April, Biden ignored the Navy while making small talk with a group of children outside the White House.
- I have six grandchildren. And I'm crazy about them. And I talk to them every day, he said, according to the New York Times.

Was addicted to drugs
Lunden Roberts is the daughter of an arms manufacturer who was a hunting buddy of Donald Trump.
That's why she learned early to hunt turkeys and alligators in her hometown of Batesville, Arkansas.
She moved to Washington to study forensics but dropped out and in 2018 started working as an assistant to Hunter Biden, who was then struggling with drug addiction and was a frequent visitor to the capital's strip clubs.
She became pregnant, but by the time Navy Joan was born in November 2018, Biden had already stopped responding to her messages. In May 2019, Lunden Roberts sued Hunter Biden and was able to establish through DNA testing that he was the father of her child.

Don't remember the meeting
Roberts has said the daughter knows her grandfather is president.
- She is very proud of who her grandfather and father are, she says according to the New York Times.
Hunter Biden, who started painting paintings that he sells for more than five million kroner each, is the president's only living son. His older brother Beau died of brain cancer in 2015, leaving behind two children. Hunter has five children, and said in his memoirs that he was in a dark place in life when his fourth – Navy – was born.
"I have no recollection of our meeting," he wrote.
"There is so little contact I had with anyone. I was a mess, but a mess I took responsibility for.”
