Solomon Islands and China in new cooperation agreement
China and the Solomon Islands have signed a cooperation agreement that may mean that China may have its military stationed on Solomonic territory, AP reports.
In addition to the countries to cooperate in police matters, it has previously been reported that they signed a secret security agreement. Something that Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare denies.
Sogavare is on a week-long visit to China where he is meeting his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang and also President Xi Jinping.

Political situation in the Netherlands
Rutte does not run for re-election – leaves politics
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte leaves politics after the collapse of the government. On Monday, he informed parliament that he is not running for re-election, several news agencies write.
- Yesterday morning I decided that I will no longer be available as leader of VVD. When a new government takes office after the election, I will leave politics, he says.
The background to the collapse of the government is that the four parties could not agree on the migration issue, which has long divided the government. Among other things, the Prime Minister's party VVD has wanted to tighten the rules for family reunification, something that two other parties in the coalition opposed.
The next step will be to call new elections. The government will remain in place during a transition period.

The cave rescue in Thailand
Grief and gratitude on the anniversary of the cave rescue
It has been five years today since twelve boys and their football coach were rescued in dramatic fashion after being stuck in a cave in Thailand for 18 days. On Monday, hundreds of people gathered outside the cave to mark the day, writes AFP. Among them were eleven of the boys, today teenagers, and their coach Ekkapol Chantawong.
He paid tribute to the divers whose complex efforts saved the lives of the team.
- If it weren't for these people, we wouldn't have survived. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
But it was with mixed feelings that the football team was there. The anniversary was tinged with sadness after their former team-mate, 17-year-old Duangpetch, passed away earlier this year while on exchange in the UK.
