China's prime minister skips press conference
Chinese Premier Li Qiang will not hold a press conference as the Great People's Congress ends at the end of the week.
However, there will be more occasions when journalists can ask questions to ministers and other representatives of the government, and also the nearly 3,000 delegates at the congress, according to spokesperson Lou Qinjian.
- If there are no special circumstances, the Prime Minister's press conference will not be held in the next few years, he says without elaborating on the issue further.
Normally, the traditional press conference is one of the few occasions when one of the country's top politicians answers the media's questions.
The People's Congress opens on Tuesday and runs for the rest of the week.

Taxi drivers in protest – 343 km queue
About fifty taxi drivers have carried out an action on a motorway in the direction of Paris since 08:00 this morning, writes French BFMTV.
The taxis are snaking their way along the road, which has caused around 343 kilometers of traffic jams to be measured in the Île-de-France region located in and around Paris.
The motive behind the protest is dissatisfaction with the pay and competition from other chauffeur-driven vehicles.
It is estimated that at least 2000 taxis will reach central Paris during the day.
