11 NATO soldiers have been injured during parachuting in Skillingaryd.

All have been taken to hospitals in Linköping and Jönköping.

- There are wounds and fractures, says Joakim Elovsson, communicator at the Army Staff.

11 people have been injured after a parachute jump during the NATO exercise Swift Response in Skillingaryd in Småland on Tuesday.

The soldiers come from the United States, Hungary and Italy. No Swedish soldier has been injured.

- They have injured themselves in some way during the jump. There are wounds and fractures, no one is life-threateningly injured, says Joakim Elovsson, communicator at the Army Staff.

The soldiers were taken to hospitals in Linköping and Jönköping.

- Nine have been evacuated by helicopter and two were taken to hospital, says Joakim Elovsson.

Between 600 and 800 NATO soldiers carried out parachute jumps at Hagshult air base during the day.

- The Americans expect that between 6 and 19 injuries of this kind occur in connection with exercises like this. Region Jönköping was therefore forewarned. We practiced last week where helicopters should go and where landing sites are in case something happens.

Eleven soldiers have been injured in connection with parachute jumps during a NATO exercise in Skillingaryd, Småland. The soldiers come from the United States, Hungary and Italy.
