The call after the shots: Cancel EU election campaigns
Slovak President-elect Peter Pellegrini is calling on the country's political parties to suspend or scale back their campaigns ahead of the EU election after Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot several times, reports AP.
At a joint press conference with outgoing president Zuzana Caputova, Pellegrini talks about Slovakia now needing "unity among the political representation".
Caputova, who is a political opponent of Fico, says that all parties should meet after the assassination attempt.
