The threats against the Israeli embassy

Three young Swedes arrested after explosion at Israel's Danish embassy

Three people have been arrested after the night's double explosions near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen. It is about three young Swedish men who are between 15 and 20 years old, the Copenhagen police said at a press conference.

Two of the men were arrested on a train at Copenhagen Central Station. A man was arrested earlier in close proximity to the crime scene, according to Danish DR.

The explosions likely came from two hand grenades, says Jens Jespersen, police inspector at the Copenhagen Police. Jespersen further says that it is not possible to know whether the men acted on their own, or on orders from someone else.

The crime took place in the "immediate vicinity" of the Israeli embassy. No one was injured and police are investigating links to the Israeli embassy.

- It is a trace that we are looking at, but it is too early to say whether there is a connection, says Jakob Hansen of the police in Copenhagen to TT.

After the death: Sweden's and Denmark's governments in conversation

Sweden's government is in contact with the Danish government after the night's explosions near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen - and the shooting that took place at the embassy in Sweden last night.

This is stated by Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) in a comment to TT.

"I take a serious view of the shooting at the Israeli embassy in Stockholm last night, and of the events reported from Copenhagen this morning," writes Strömmer.

According to Expressen's information, a person with connections to Swedish gang crime has been arrested in Denmark after the crime.
