Iran meets Russia – to discuss US talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will travel to Moscow later this week to meet his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, several news agencies report. The two will discuss last week’s negotiations between Iran and the US on the Iranian nuclear energy program.

The talks with the US will then resume in Italy on Saturday. After the first round of talks this weekend, the first at a high level between the countries since the previous nuclear energy agreement collapsed, Iran said that it will not be easy to get a new agreement in place.

At the same time, the pressure on Iran is great as Donald Trump has opened up for military action against the country if the talks do not go in the right direction, writes TT.

Hamas: We will release all hostages in exchange for guaranteed peace

Hamas is ready to release the rest of the Israeli hostages if Israel can guarantee that the war in Gaza ends and that all Israeli forces are withdrawn. This was told by Taher al-Nunu, a high-ranking source within the terrorist group, to AFP.

Israeli media reported on Monday that Hamas had been given a new proposal in which the group would release ten live hostages in exchange for the US guaranteeing that Israel will begin negotiating a permanent ceasefire.

According to Taher al-Nunu, however, it is not conceivable that Hamas disarms, which has been an Israeli demand for a ceasefire.

Helicopter accident in New York
Helicopter company closes down after fatal accident

The helicopter company behind last week's fatal accident in New York is immediately ceasing its operations, reports AFP. The company had arranged sightseeing tours for tourists over the city.

In the accident, one of the company's helicopters crashed into the Hudson River. Everyone on board, the pilot and a family of children, died.

It is still unclear what caused the accident, but according to authorities in New Jersey, it could be a collision with birds or a drone, or a mechanical failure.
