Information: Hegseth shared Yemen attack plans with his wife and brother
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared detailed plans for upcoming attacks in Yemen in a private Signal chat group that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer, four sources told the New York Times.
Among the information shared was the schedule of the F-18 fighter jets that carried out the airstrikes in March, the sources said. The same information was shared in a Signal chat group that included several White House officials, and which caused an uproar when The Atlantic's editor-in-chief was accidentally invited and revealed it.
Hegseth's wife Jennifer, a former Fox News producer, is not employed by the Defense Department but has been criticized for accompanying her husband to sensitive meetings with foreign leaders.
The secretary's brother and lawyer both work at the Pentagon, but according to the NYT they have no clear reason to know about the attack plans.

Three senior Pentagon employees were fired this week amid an ongoing investigation into leaks from the US defense headquarters.
In a joint statement, they now write that they are “incredibly disappointed” and that the manner in which they were forced out is “indefensible.”
“We still have not been told exactly what we were investigated for, whether an investigation is still ongoing or whether there was even a real investigation into the ‘leaks’ in the first place,” write Dan Caldwell, Colin Carroll and Darin Selnick.
Information that has been leaked to news media concerns Elon Musk’s visit to the headquarters, US military plans for the Panama Canal and news about the Middle East and Ukraine, writes Politico.
Sources tell CBS News that the investigation is extensive and that more people could be fired.

Two Russian planes flew over the Baltic Sea this week, close to NATO airspace. The UK Ministry of Defence announced this on Sunday.
On Tuesday, two British fighter jets took off from a military base in Poland to divert an Ilyushin Il-20M reconnaissance aircraft. On Thursday it was time again. Two British planes flew to repel a Russian plane that had recently taken off from the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.
“This comes just a few weeks after the aircraft arrived in eastern Poland to begin their deployment together with Sweden to defend NATO’s eastern flank,” the ministry writes.
“The mission demonstrates our ability to operate side by side with NATO’s newest member Sweden,” says Luke Pollard, deputy defence minister responsible for the defence forces.
It is not clear exactly how Sweden has contributed during the operation.
World Bank Tones Down Climate Work Under Trump
The World Bank, a global intergovernmental organization that provides loans for poverty reduction, has toned down its work on climate change since Donald Trump took office, according to a number of sources for Politico.
Director Ajay Banga, who was nominated by Joe Biden, was previously a strong advocate of loans for green transition. Now he has instead begun to emphasize topics that resonate more with Republicans, such as jobs, nuclear power and natural gas.
According to the sources, the bank has toned down its climate policy out of pure self-preservation, even though it has not fundamentally changed.
“Do you want to talk about that out loud? Probably not in the current environment,” says Samir Suleymanov, a former middle manager at the bank.
