Volvo Cars future
Volvo Cars surged 38 percent – best stock market day ever
It's the gas at the bottom for Volvo Cars on the Stockholm Stock Exchange on Thursday morning. The share surged 38 percent – the biggest gain ever.
The car giant's interim report came in stronger than expected and beat estimates on all counts. The main reason for the success is the company's savings program, which was launched earlier this year and has now started to have an effect.
- I think that now, after many months of reduced volumes, we will return to growth, but at the same time maintain profitability, says CEO Håkan Samuelsson to TT.
In connection with the savings package, Volvo Cars has laid off 2,000 people, half of whom worked in Sweden. The savings program will also continue in the fourth quarter.
- But when it comes to personnel reductions, we are ready, says Håkansson.
Arlanda's future
Arlanda top: "Wants to become the largest airport in the Nordics"
Arlanda is still far behind Kastrup, but the airport's operations manager Susanne Norman tells SvD Näringsliv that she is hopeful of both catching up and overtaking.
The list of challenges could be made long. Long distances, substandard connections and expensive food are some of the problems that are usually mentioned. The fact that the number of long-haul flights has decreased as a result of SAS's increased focus on Copenhagen is another.
At the same time, high punctuality and lower fees are two factors that speak in favor of Arlanda.
- We are completely convinced that we can fulfill the plan just as well here as in Copenhagen. My ambition is for Arlanda to become the largest airport in the Nordics, Norman tells the newspaper.

Binance founder pardoned: "The war on crypto is over"
US President Donald Trump has pardoned the founder of the crypto exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao. The Wall Street Journal reports.
– The Biden administration's war on crypto is over, says White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who confirms the pardon.
Changpeng Zhao was sentenced last year to four months in prison after pleading guilty to money laundering charges. In recent months, he has worked to strengthen the Trump family's crypto company World Liberty Financial.
Zhao has already served his sentence but has still enlisted the help of powerful lobbyists to secure a pardon.
Expert: Risk of being blacklisted for violating sanctions
The consequences for those who trade with the Russian oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil can be severe. This is what Hugo von Essen, an analyst at the Center for East European Studies, tells DI.
– If you trade with companies that have been sanctioned by the United States, you risk being blacklisted by the United States.
This is something companies want to avoid, he notes. This is because a blacklisting can mean that you are locked out of the dollar system.
