Trump's USA  Climate Policy
Sources: Americans Threatened Europeans at UN Talks

US negotiators made personal threats to European negotiators at UN talks in London last month, eight sources familiar with the talks told Politico.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) had gathered to discuss taxes on emissions from global merchant shipping, which the Trump administration – which views the climate threat as a hoax – strongly opposes.

Behind closed doors, the Americans took a tough stance to get the Europeans to fall into line.

“Our negotiators have never experienced anything like this in international talks. People were summoned to the US embassy in London and subjected to intimidation tactics, threats of business contracts being torn up and visas for family members being revoked,” one of the sources said.

The UN meeting ended with the decision on emissions taxes being postponed for a year.

Terrorist Threats
LGBTQ Bars Were Targets of Terror Plans

This weekend's thwarted terrorist attack in Michigan was to target LGBTQ bars. The FBI told American media.

Two of the suspected perpetrators were caught on surveillance cameras buying heavy firearms and more than 1,600 rounds of ammunition, according to several media outlets. They are also said to have practiced at a shooting range and scouted several LGBTQ bars in the Ferndale area outside Detroit, AFP reports.

The five arrested are between 16 and 20 years old and have been inspired by IS ideology, suspect the police, who have been monitoring them and their communications for several weeks. The 16-year-old has asked an "extreme Islamist ideologue" for advice on when to carry out a "good deed", the FBI said according to NBC.

Shein bans childlike sex dolls after French minister's threat

France's finance minister is threatening to throw e-commerce giant Shein out of the French market if the company ever sells childlike sex dolls again. He tells the TV channel BFMTV, and promises legal action. This follows protests against the fact that 80-centimeter-long sex dolls with child faces were sold with explicitly sexual product texts on the site.

- These horrific objects are illegal, Finance Minister Roland Lescure tells the TV channel.

Shein apologizes and promises to stop selling all sex dolls globally, writes AFP. The scandal erupts days before the planned opening of the company's first physical store in the world in central Paris.
