USA forced to reduce air traffic
TT
Air traffic in the USA will decrease by ten percent in "high-volume markets", the country's aviation authority FAA announced.
The reason is that the authority needs to reduce staff in the wake of the shutdown of the government apparatus.
Bryan Bedford at the FAA said on Wednesday that they had decided not to wait for problems to arise before acting and added that the shutdown is putting pressure on staff, something that "we cannot ignore".
The FAA will meet with representatives of the airlines on Wednesday American time to agree on how the reduction can be implemented safely.
