Musk condemned – compares Soros to supervillain
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is being criticized after verbally attacking philanthropist George Soros, who is a frequent target of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
In a post on Twitter, Musk compared the billionaire to the Jewish supervillain Magneto from X-Men, who, like Soros, survived the Holocaust.
“He wants to erode the very fabric of civilization. Soros hates humanity," writes Musk.
The words are condemned. This will "encourage extremists," according to human rights organization Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt. On Twitter, he writes that it is not only outrageous, but also dangerous. Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also criticized the company leader.
In an interview with CNBC, Elon Musk defends himself. When asked about the matter, he replies that he "says what he wants", even if it means he loses money.
Musk did not give a reason for the jump, but the Washington Post states that it happened three days after Soros' company sold all its shares in Tesla.

Nadella dismisses Musk's claim that Microsoft controls Open AI
Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed in an interview last month that Microsoft has "very strong control, albeit not direct control over Open AI." But Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella now denies that in an interview with CNBC.
- I have great respect for Elon and what he does, but this is actually not true, says Nadella to CNBC.
Nadella points out that it is fundamental for Open AI that the company is controlled by a non-profit board.
- We have a non-controlling interest, says Nadella in the interview.
