The volcanic threats in Iceland
Volcanic risk in Iceland - Grindavik evacuated
There is again a risk of volcanic eruptions on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula and the seismic activity is moving south towards the community of Grindavik, which has therefore been evacuated, RUV reports.
"Intense seismic activity" has been recorded at Sýlingarfell northeast of Grindavík, according to the country's meteorological authority. The tourist attraction Blue Lagoon has also been evacuated.
- We want to thank the guests for their good understanding, the employees for their professional work ethic and the responders for their good cooperation, says Blå lagunen's manager Helga Árnadóttir.

Biden trails Trump in scathing new poll
If Joe Biden and Donald Trump met in a presidential election today, Biden would lose. That's according to a new opinion poll from the New York Times and Siena College.
48 percent of those polled would vote for Trump while 43 percent would vote for Biden. Ten percent of voters are still undecided or intend to abstain from voting.
The confidence numbers for the current president are also scathing. 47 percent believe that Biden is doing a very bad job, which is his worst number in the survey so far.
In addition, Trump voters are more loyal than Biden voters. Of those who voted for the Republican in the last election, 97 percent say they will vote for Trump again. 83 percent of Biden voters say they will vote for him again.
