Danish party leader Søren Pape Poulsen is dead
Søren Pape Poulsen, party leader of the Danish Conservative People's Party and former Minister of Justice, is dead. The party announces this on its website.
Danmarks Radio writes that the 52-year-old party leader suffered a brain hemorrhage during a meeting with the party board on Friday. He was taken to hospital but his life could not be saved and he died at 1pm on Saturday.
"He fell over in the middle of what he had dedicated his life to," writes the party's general secretary Søren Vandsø.
The Conservative People's Party has ten seats in the Danish parliament.

Frederiksen in shock: "Today my thoughts are with the family"
Danish politicians react with sadness after the announcement that Søren Pape Poulsen, leader of the Conservative People's Party, has passed away. Both party colleagues and representatives of other parties are shocked.
In a statement, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen says that Pape Poulsen was a committed politician and that the country's security policy has recently been largely shaped "in the spirit of Søren".
"Today my thoughts go out to Søren's family, whom he loved so much, and to the entire Conservative People's Party".
Alex Vanopglagh, party leader of the Liberal Alliance, describes Pape Paulsen as a fantastic colleague and person.
“With the heart in the right place. With an eye for the people around him”.
Inger Støjberg, who leads the Danmarksdemokraterne, writes on Facebook that they were good friends who could talk about everything.
"Sören, I will miss you every day."
Pape Poulsen suffered a brain hemorrhage during a meeting with the party board on Friday and died on Saturday. He was 52 years old.
