Ahead of his visit to Serbia, Chinese President Xi Jinping publishes an article in the Serbian newspaper Politika. As expected, he chooses to pay attention to it today, 25 years since the bombing of the Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia.
"Twenty-five years ago today, NATO blatantly bombed the Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia and killed three Chinese journalists," Xi says in the article, adding that "we should never forget."
The last time Xi was in Serbia was in 2016, which was the first visit by a Chinese president to the country in 32 years. After the visit to Serbia, Xi's European tour continues with a stop in Hungary.
