Ruby is not yet in port - blame the media

The ship MV Ruby, which in September was loaded with 20,000 tons of ammonium nitrate between Norway and Denmark, is now off the British east coast, writes GP.

When the ship changed its course to Malta, the Maltese authorities also refused to accept it. The owner blames the situation on the media in the countries affected.

"Due to the media speculation, port terminals in Great Britain are reluctant to take the ship in," writes a communications company hired by the ship's owner.

CIA seeks informants - in social media posts

The CIA has resorted to an unusual method to acquire new informants in China, Iran and North Korea, several media outlets write. The US Secret Service has posted social media posts in Mandarin, Persian and Korean with instructions on how to safely contact the CIA.

The instructions have also been published on the dark web and the campaign has been expanded after successfully recruiting Russians in the same way after the invasion of Ukraine.

- We want individuals in other authoritarian regimes to know that we are available, says a spokesperson according to the BBC.

Helene deadliest US hurricane since Katrina 2005

Hurricane Helene is the deadliest hurricane to hit the US mainland since Katrina in 2005. That is clear after the death toll in Georgia and North Carolina reached over 200 on Thursday, AP writes.

Among the victims is a couple aged 74 and 78 respectively, who died after a large tree fell on their bedroom where they were sleeping. Grandson John Savage had just been there to make sure they were safe but on the way there he heard a loud bang. The couple, who were married for over 50 years, are said to have died hugging in bed.
