Biden was warned early about Israel's actions in Gaza
In the week after Israel attacked Gaza in response to the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, discussions were held in the Biden administration about the negative consequences that the war risked.
Among other things, Reuters has taken part in internal email conversations which show that the White House was warned about Israel's actions early on.
On October 13, nearly a week after the Hamas terror attack, then-Secretary of Defense for Middle Eastern Affairs Dana Stroul sent an email to Joe Biden's advisers warning that the mass Israeli evacuations in Gaza would lead to a humanitarian disaster and violate international law.
The news agency has reviewed three different email conversations between October 11 and 14, 2023. Within the administration there was early concern about how the US's relationship with countries in the Middle East would be affected by the war and the handling of the conflict, writes Reuters.

Source: Deadliest attack in the West Bank since 2000
Thursday's Israeli air attack on a refugee camp in Tulkarm is the deadliest attack on the occupied West Bank since 2000, a source in the Palestinian security service told AFP.
The death toll has risen to 18 since the attack. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa calls it a "massacre" and says Israel is ignoring global demands for justice. In a post on X, Mustafa writes that dozens have been injured.
Israel confirms the attack which it says was aimed at the Hamas stop Zahi Yaser Abd al-Razeq Oufi. According to the Israeli military, he was killed in the attack, along with several other members of the terrorist group.
Witnesses say that the attack hit a cafe in a four-story building
