In private conversations with his advisers, Donald Trump has approved an attack plan against Iran.

The Wall Street Journal  writes, citing three sources.

– I may do it, I may not do it, the president told reporters at the White House earlier on Wednesday.

According to reports, Trump has not yet given any official order for the attack but is waiting for Iran to agree to shut down its controversial nuclear energy program.

The sources tell the newspaper that Trump's threat to join the conflict could force Tehran to agree to his demands.

Several meetings in the “situation room”

According to the newspaper, the American president is said to have given the green light to the attack on Tuesday. The same day, he called his national security advisers to a meeting in the White House “situation room”.

On Wednesday, he held a new meeting in the “Situation room” to discuss US action against Iran.

He has previously spoken openly about the possibility of an attack.

– I have ideas about what to do but I have not made a final decision yet. "I like to make decisions at the last minute," he said during a press conference in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
