Hundreds of thousands displaced in war-torn Yemen
Renewed fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Iranian-backed Houthi movement has forced more than 300,000 people to flee their homes within Yemen, according to the UN.
The vast majority have left the western part of the country—all within the last two months. They are in “urgent need of protection, food, clean water, and medical care,” the International Organization for Migration (IOM) reports.
In September, the IOM stated that thousands more Yemenis had fled to the neighboring country of Djibouti.
