The no-confidence vote is complete.

Boris Johnson will remain Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The result: 211 for, 148 against.

The voting in the British House of Commons began at 19.00 and ended at 21.00, Swedish time. Boris Johnson's own party colleagues voted whether they trusted him or not.

An hour later the message came - a majority with 63 votes.

Boris Johnson will remain Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The result: 211 for, 148 against.

A queue rolled into the polling station during the evening. Among the parliamentarians in the queue, there is small talk, mostly about questions of a practical nature, writes The Guardian.

"I will win for you again", Boris Johnson is said to have said in a closed meeting in front of members earlier today, reports the BBC.

Needed 180 votes

The decision on the no-confidence vote was based on the fact that at least 54 of the Prime Minister's own MPs (15 per cent) had demanded a no-confidence vote. It was up to the Conservative Party's total of 359 members to decide Johnson's fate.

After the Prime Minister's party member had been allowed to work, a number of members had declared their support even before the vote, states Daily Mail journalist John Stevens who kept the bill. At 7.20 pm, 140 members had declared their support for Johnson, Stevens writes on Twitter.

Boris Johnson needed 180 votes to remain. Now he avoids further votes for a year.
