Energy panic spreads in Europe due to Putin's gas war.
Several countries resort to drastic measures when electricity prices skyrocket.
France is considering opening more nuclear power plants and Spain is urging office workers to take off their ties to cool off.
During Saturday, the Russian gas giant Gazprom announced that they are cutting off gas supplies to Latvia, reports theDaily Mail.
This is the sixth country in Europe to taste Putin's gas stop. The continent is facing an acute energy crisis that will likely continue as long as the war in Ukraine continues.
Now, several European countries are trying to store as much gas as possible ahead of the cold winter, causing electricity prices to reach record levels.
In Great Britain and Germany, households are warned that the price of electricity bills may triple.
"Take off your ties"
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is urging office workers to take off their ties to cool off at work instead of turning on the air conditioning.
Sanchez himself had skipped the tie when he met the press gathering outside the presidential palace in Madrid. More energy-saving measures are to be expected on Monday, he announced.
At the same time, Macron's government in France is considering nationalizing the energy company EDF. This is to be able to bring several decommissioned nuclear power plants back into operation.

Several cities shut down
Germany is one of the countries most affected by the gas shortage. Several large cities are now choosing to turn off the lights to save on electricity.
During the evening, the streets of several cities will remain dark as the street lights are switched off. In Berlin, people have also started to put out lights around historical monuments.
Something that the Austrian city of Linz has also decided on. German Hanover has decided to ban hot water and central heating in public buildings.

This is how Sweden is affected
The recurring energy shortage in Sweden means that some households may have their electricity cut off this winter, something that Dagens Nyheter was the first to report on.
The energy market in Sweden is greatly affected by the war in Ukraine. In order for the system not to break down, it may be necessary to cut the power in certain places in the southern parts of the country. Something that has never before happened in Sweden.
But there are tricks for how you can save on electricity.
- If you have an old fridge or freezer, it may be justified to replace it, even if we don't want a wear and tear society, says analyst Christian Holtz to Aftonbladet.
It may also be good to review your heating system and air conditioning.

The price is increased by 200 percent
The electricity crisis also affects our neighboring countries Norway and Denmark.
Although the majority of electricity comes from hydropower in Norway, the country is affected by the European gas shortage, reports VG. This is because energy prices in different countries follow each other.
Ekstrabladet reports that the price of gas in Denmark will increase by a few thousand kroner on average during the autumn. This is because the prices for transporting gas to Denmark are increased by over 200 percent.
