Sunak and Biden to strengthen ties with new "Atlantic Pact"  

 

The United States and the United Kingdom must strengthen their strategic and economic cooperation on issues such as defense, energy and artificial intelligence. This was announced by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and President Joe Biden after a meeting at the White House on Thursday. This is reported by international media.  

 

The new "Atlantic Declaration" is described by Sunak as a way to arm the countries against the growing threat from countries such as Russia and China.  

 

- Great Britain and the United States have always pushed the limits of what two countries can achieve together. So it is only natural that as we face the biggest economic shift since the industrial revolution, we turn to each other to build a stronger future together, he says in a statement.

US President Joe Biden says on Thursday that the security risks of artificial intelligence need to be evaluated.  

 

"I believe that never in the history of mankind have we experienced such a comprehensive technological change as shown by artificial intelligence. It is astonishing," says the president during a press conference together with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, where they presented the new "Atlantic Pact".
