Several children have been injured after being attacked with a knife in France.  
 
A suspected perpetrator is said to have been shot by the police.  
 
The perpetrator is said to have connections to Sweden, according to French BFMTV.  
 
A man has attacked several children with a knife in the city of Annecy in eastern France, the french newspaper Le Dauphine rapports.
 
The incident must have taken place in a playground.  
 
Police, rescue personnel and military are on site. 
 
The perpetrator must have been shot.  
 
According to the French channel BFTM, several of the children are said to be seriously injured.  
 
Pictures show large cordons and ambulance helicopters arriving at the scene.

Connections to Sweden  
 
According to a police source for the French channel BFMTV, the suspected perpetrator has connections to Sweden.  
 
According to the source, the man must have been granted refugee status in Sweden in April.  
 
According to the source, the man has Syrian nationality and had applied for asylum in France in November.  
On Twitter, French President Macron commented on the events. 
 
“An attack of absolute cowardice in a park in Annecy this morning. Children and adults now stand between life and death. The nation is in shock.”  
 
According to the first information, the perpetrator would have been shot to death, writes French media.  
 
Later it was stated that the man is injured.
