Joe Biden has asked Jens Stoltenberg to continue as NATO Secretary General for another year, according to sources for NRK.
The American president is said to have urged Stoltenberg in connection with a visit to Washington earlier this week. According to the public service company's information, Stoltenberg has not yet given any information on how he stands on the issue.
Stoltenberg's mandate as NATO Secretary General has actually already expired, but has been extended on several occasions.

Boris Johnson becomes a columnist for the Daily Mail newspaper
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will start writing columns for the Daily Mail now that he has left the British Parliament, the British tabloid said.
"Whether you're a Johnson supporter or not, his columns will be required reading," the newspaper writes.
Reuters writes that Johnson's contract with the newspaper is likely to be very lucrative. Before Johnson became a politician, he worked, among other things, as an editor at The Spectator newspaper and he was a columnist for The Daily Telegraph.

The police in Minneapolis in the United States have regularly used excessive force against people belonging to ethnic minorities. It is established in an investigation by the US Department of Justice after the murder of George Floyd.
The investigation highlights several cases where police used force even though it was not called for. It also shows how police have disproportionately stopped and searched African-Americans or people belonging to the indigenous peoples of the United States.

George Floyd was killed during a police intervention in 2020. The incident led to widespread protests both in the United States and in other countries.
