Norwegian seismologists read of an explosion at the dam
Seismological instruments belonging to the Norwegian Norwegian Seismic Array (Norsar) registered an explosion in connection with the collapse of the dam in Ukraine, writes the Russian-in-exile Moscow Times.
Data from Norsar's measuring stations in the region show that an explosion took place at 02:54 local time on June 6.
"The time and place coincide with the media reporting on the collapse of the Kakhovka dam," Norsar writes in a statement.
It is still not determined exactly what caused the dam to collapse. Russia and Ukraine blame each other.

Dam collapse difficult to investigate – evidence washed away
It can be very difficult to get answers to what actually happened when the Kakhovka Dam in Ukraine burst. That's what two experts DN spoke to say. This is because the huge masses of water likely washed away important evidence.
- They are probably washed away. After all, it will be an uncontrolled outflow of water that drags everything possible loose in its path, says Sven Knutsson, who researches geotechnical engineering at Luleå University.
It remains unclear what is behind the collapse, and Ukraine and Russia have blamed each other. But new information that seismic measurements showed that a powerful explosion took place when the collapse occurred speaks strongly against Russia's version, writes Sky News.
- This will be difficult for Russia to try to explain away, says defense analyst Michael Clarke to the channel.
