The US-China relationship
Antony Blinken is said to be traveling to China next week
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken may travel to China as early as next week, two sources told Politico. If the trip goes through, Blinken will be the highest-ranking American to visit the country since Representative Mike Pompeo's 2018 trip.
The Chinese embassy in Washington does not want to confirm the information, but says that China is "open to dialogue" with the United States.
Blinken was supposed to visit China in February but the trip was canceled at the last minute after a Chinese spy balloon was spotted over the US. The incident led to the relationship between the countries almost breaking down completely.

White House: Media wrong about Chinese spy base in Cuba
The White House is fighting back against media reports that the Chinese government settled with Cuba over a "spy base" in the country, reports Bloomberg.
The information published by the Wall Street Journal claims that the base is to be used to intercept electronic communications in the southern United States where several military bases are located.
- I have seen the reports in the media. That's not correct, White House security adviser John Kirby told MSNBC.
Bloomberg writes that Kirby did not indicate whether the information is being sentenced in part or in full.
